With over 19 years as a consultant ophthalmologist and more than 20,000 cataract surgeries performed, Dr. Varun Baweja is among India’s most experienced eye surgeons. He holds a DNB in Ophthalmology from the prestigious Grewal Eye Institute, where he trained under legends like Dr. Grewal and Dr. Brar. His international career includes the UK NHS (Cambridgeshire)—where he trained in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS)—and consultant roles at Harley Street, London and CHEC UK.
He is the first surgeon in India to be certified for 4 MIGS devices, including iStent Inject, OMNI, Hydrus, and Preserflo, bringing world-class glaucoma care to patients in the region.
He is currently the only surgeon in India certified for advanced pinhole glaucoma surgery. His expertise spans the full spectrum of refractive procedures, including LASIK, FEMTO LASIK, PRK, SMILE, and CLEAR.
